Winter Fun Run: No prizes. No awards, just fun. That’s how the Hartford Parks & Recreation Department touts this one and three-mile outing on Saturday. “For serious runners who may be going through racing withdrawal during the long winter months and for those not so serious but would like to run with others in an organized “fun” event, this is it!!!” Registration is $15 and race-day sign up will be open before the 8 a.m. start at the recreation center, 125 N. Santa Run/Walk Waukesha: If you missed the Santa fun on the Milwaukee lakefront last weekend, break out your costume for this 5K in downtown Waukesha on Sunday morning. The run supports the Salvation Army of Waukesha County. Registration is $30 and opens before the 10:30 a.m. start in People’s Park, 337 W. Main St. Click here for more details.
Pinnacle Indoor Triathlon: The second race in the indoor triathlon series starts at 4:15 p.m. Saturday in the Pinnacle Health and Fitness center, 5973 Executive Dr., in Fitchburg. Competitors start in waves for a race that includes a 10-minute swim, 20-minute spin on a bike and 10-minute run. Registration is $20. Click here for more details.
Wisconsin Cup Cyclocross Championships: Even rookie cyclocross racers have a chance to compete for a state championship in the final race of the WCA Cyclocross series, in Badger Prairie Park, Verona. The junior racers start the action at 9 a.m. and the elite pros cap the day with a 2:45 start. Registration fees are $25, or $30, depending on the race category, and the beginner’s race at noon is just $10. Click here for more details.
