The work-day hustle in downtown Milwaukee will be replaced on Sunday by a Drench dash.
Drench Fitness Boutique, a year-old personal training studio, hosts its second Abdominal Snowman Run/Walk to benefit diabetes research and showcase the space at 524 N. Water St. Unlike the typical charity 5K, this will be a sprint from Drench up Water St. to the Red Rock Saloon, less than a mile north.
“It’s a way for people to get to know Drench,” said Liz Entwhistle, director of sales and marketing. “We’re not on the radio, doing advertising. We have small classes and that personal touch.”
Training sessions at Drench are intense, led by Adam Rothfelder, a former professional boxer and kickboxer, and bodybuilder. Group classes are limited to 14 or fewer and the studio focuses on personal workouts. Rothfelder uses kettle bells, TRX and heavy bags to build functional strength.
Registration for the Abdominal Snowman costs $18 and opens at 10 a.m. Sunday. The run starts at 11 a.m. and the fastest will be first to the beer and food.
