Dozens of vendors and citizen cyclists will have gear for sale Sunday at the 5th annual Milwaukee Area Bike and Ski Swap, in the University of of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Union, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the UWM Cycling Club and the Milwaukee Bicycle Works, a junior cycling team.
Jake Newborn, from the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, has been the swap organizer for five years.
“When we started we wanted to build a community of cyclists from all the varying realms to come together and buy and sell each others stuff while networking to support the youth cycling programs in Milwaukee,” Newborn says. “Last year was by far our most successful swap with more than 300 attendees, even though there was a Packer game that day! This year the mighty Green and Gold play the Vikings at noon, but if you come early, you cruise through the swap, scoop up the best deals and be home sitting in your comfy chair scooping up dip and drinking a beer while you watch the game.”
The swap will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission fees are $5 for adults and $3 for students with a school ID.
