I bike to work on that trail 2-3 times a week and find the crossings to be difficult at times mainly because of the speed of the vehicles. Sunnyslope and Springdale Rds do not have medians (unlike the crossings at Moorland, Calhoun and Hwy 164) so both lanes must be crossed at once. Not a problem at Springdale which has little traffic but Sunnyslope can be very busy and fast. Flashing lights or speed bumps might help slow traffic down. It is a great trail to get from Tosa to Waukesha and so great to see so many people out using it every day.

Terribly sad. I know nothing will happen again to the driver. Probably formally the girl shares some blame since there are stop signs posted. Still, how on earth can one blast with a car through a bike way crossing without paying attention??????? I am not sure whether a vulnerable user law would address such accident - but at least it may if well publicized make people more aware that they share the road with people that don't have the protection of an SUV.

Sounds fine. Pretty meaningless. Men. Valley Park or something like that is what people will likely call it anyway. It is cool to ride there.

Thanks for the trail updates! That's what I come here to see! Can we get an update on the West Allis Cross-Town Connector? It looks like they're doing some work on it this year from 124th to 108th. Lots of markers up and they've cleared out all the vegetation.

And if we're voting for parts of the Oak Leaf Trail to fix, I vote for Underwood Creek Parkway by Hanson Park. Terrible pavement condition. Bump, bump, bump.
