Runners tackling a new race with a St. Patrick’s Day theme will have to go an extra mile for their green beer.
Vision Events Management created the Lucky Leprechaun 7K with the unusual distance, tacking an extra 2K to the usual five. The race on March 16 will go through Wauwatosa and Hart Park, with the start and finish outside Leff’s Lucky Town, 7208 W. State St. That’s where participants will find their green beer reward.
Registration will cost $30, and proceeds from the race will be shared with the MACC Fund.
Vision Events, based in Indianapolis, Ind., organized the Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole and the Madison Mini-Marathon, two other races with odd distances – the 6.55-mile quarter marathon.
And for those checking their calendars, the Lucky Leprechaun 7 is the week after the Blarney Run and the Luck of the Irish Run.
